Otavalo is one of the most important Indigenous cities of Ecuador because of its Andean culture and one of the biggest and famous markets in Latin America. It is located in the north heart of the Andes and is close to very interesting scenic sites such as San Pablo Lake, the Imbabura Volcano, Peguche Waterfall, Cotacachi, and Cuicocha Lake which is located in the crater of a huge volcano.
Students will live with local Indigenous or mestizo families most of them located at Peguche community; and they will get the Spanish lessons in their home stay too. Students can experience different touristic activities alone or with their teachers in order to learn more about the culture, traditional food, music, paints, dress and traditions. Students also have the option to learn our native language (Quichua).
